Concern about page speed

Hi, i'm having one upcoming projet and was thinking of using C5 for it.
In the past i have made only one little site with C5, but i have experience with other CMS, so it is not a problem.

The problem is that my previous site with C5 takes too much to load, and it is a very small site, one page scrolling site with a few images. I have read on the internet that C5 is not one of the fastest CMS, i can understand that it is slower on bigger sites, but my site is really small.

So if anyone will care to take a look, i will post a link to the website, also the website is hosted on Go Daddy, maybe that is the problem?

Anyway, here is the link:

Just tried it. Got >2mins for the first response. Then on reloads just 1 to 5 seconds consistently after that.

Either the first one was a glitch, or there is a lot going on that such a simple site doesn't need and is loading a cache.

2 minutes loading-it was a glitch 100%. I'm talking about 5-7 seconds loading, for this kind of website it should be instant opening.

Please, how would i know what this site doesn't need and what do you mean by it is loading a cache?

Thanks

Godaddy shared hosting is very slow with CMS/PHP type applications. I use their VPS and it is fine, but if you are on one of their shared plans there is not much you can do to speed things up.

I have found hostgator.com to be one of the best places to host for low cost and good performance.

I've done a few tests on webpagetest.org and it seems that the average load time is about 9 seconds. That is way tooo much.
But the thing that is bugging me the most is the time to first byte-3.5 seconds.

Why is my website waiting 3.5 seconds just to get started? Anyone had similar issues?

edit: I tested now and the time for first byte is a whopping 5.4sec!!!!

I just posted some ideas on another thread that may help you diagnose where the issue is:
