editing an existing post in C5 changes the default poster user avatar...very annoying!

as the subject mentions, is there a way to keep this from happening? If I edit another user's post it shouldn't change the initial poster's avatar to mine simply because I edited his/her's post.
Thanks to all who replied to help this issue being resolved.
